Best to Reach:

My name is Kelly Jampedro (JAM-PEE-DRŌ) and I am pleased to join the St. Charles School Family as the second Kindergarten teacher for the 2015-16 school year. I am happy to return to teaching K5 as my passion lies in teaching small children.  I spent the last 4 years teaching First grade, but prior to that I had 2 years of experience with Kindergarten students and I loved it!

I began my teaching career in the state of Pennsylvania, where I was born and raised, as an elementary Spanish teacher.  I later moved to IL, where I taught 3rd grade transitional bilingual education to children of migrant workers in Joliet.  We moved a third time and I ended up in the beautiful state of Wisconsin where I taught K5 at the Urban League Academy of Milwaukee.  As a young educator it was my mission to provide a world-class education to at-risk youth.  It was a very difficult, yet rewarding time of my life working with these students, but it helped me to grow as a person and in my faith as well.  I built my home in Pewaukee in 2005 and I began work as a Second grade teacher in Waukesha. I had my son, Rocco that year and took a 5 year break from my career to raise him and later, my daughter Mia. I then returned to work once my daughter was 3 and spent the past 4 years in First grade at Queen of Apostles School.  My children are now 7 (Mia) and 10 (Rocco) and my daughter will be joining the Second grade class at St. Charles this year.

I have had many experiences in my career that have shaped the way I view education and sharpened my skills in the areas of differentiated instruction and classroom management.  I am a very nurturing and energetic instructor.  I try to help children find joy in their tasks and a love for learning as well as encourage their independence and build their confidence.  As a parent of two completely different children I have an understanding of the importance of each child’s unique identity and interests and I embrace what they bring to my classroom and use it to drive my instruction.  I know this will be a great year for all of us and I open my doors to you and invite you in with open arms.  Volunteers are always welcome !  If you have suggestions or ideas on how you might want to volunteer your time in our room, please let me know.  If you have any questions/concerns throughout the school year please do not hesitate to call/email me.  I am always here to work with you on our top priority, your child!
