Miss Amy Ellenbecker
I started working here at St. Charles in 2004 as an instructional assistant in different classrooms. In 2007, I was given the opportunity to start the 4-year-old Kindergarten program. Now I am the 4K teacher which has grown to a half day or full day program.
My educational experience started back in high school when I worked as a teacher assistant in a child care center. I continued working there through my college years to pay for my tuition. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Pre-K/Primary Education from Cardinal Stritch College. With degree in hand, I ventured out into school settings and became a substitute teacher for a couple of school districts. Then, I ventured back into the child care center scene by becoming an assistant director for three years. By keeping my teaching license up-to-date, I went back to substitute teaching and even had a long-term subbing position as a Kindergarten teacher. Lastly, before coming to St. Charles, I worked at a before and after-school program at Merton School during the school year and then as a camp director over the summers for several years. So as you can see, my life has been all about children!!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family that is growing with nephews and nieces, a bowling league during fall and winter, and a softball league during spring and summer. I absolutely love having the opportunity to share my training and talents with all the staff and students here at St. Charles School.
